Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Seminar
International Aero Training Academy (IATAC) held its first Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Seminar on 1st December 2021 at IATAC Batu Berendam, Malacca with the theme “Emerging UAS Technology: Operational & Regulatory Requirements”. The seminar was jointly organized by IATAC dan Aerial Robotics Asia Sdn Bhd (ARA) and was attended by local government officers from various agencies.
This seminar brought together UAS stakeholders and regulators to have a better understanding of the current Advancements in UAS Technology in Malaysia. Subject matter experts in this field enlightened the audience with their knowledge and experiences on UAS technologies and regulations.
Mr Muhammad Fadillah bin Rosli, Technology Assistant Director of UAS Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM) officiated the seminar. Further, Captain Wafi bin Abdulfatah Haron from CAAM UAS Unit spoke on CAAM Drone Regulations while other speakers which included Dr. Zulhilmy Bin Sahwee, Senior Lecturer, UniKL MIAT who talked about The Best Drone Platform for Operational Needs, Mr Senthelnathan Kaindasamy from the Civil Defense touched on use of UAV in Disaster Management and Mr Saravanan Chettiar Letchumenan, a drone specialist ended the session with a talk on the Growth of UAS Technology in Malaysia.
IATAC will be soon be offering UAS training for Remote Pilot Competency Certification at Batu Berendam, Melaka with practical training conducted at Sungai Rambai Aerodrome.
