ASSISTANT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR COURSE
The Flight Instructor Rating is essential for Commercial Pilot Licence holders who wish to become Flight Instructors and provide training to aspiring pilots. The IATAC AFI/FI Rating Training course is designed to meet the standards set by CAAM, adhering to the relevant Civil Aviation Directives and Guidance Materials

Entry Requirements
Applicants for the Assistant Flight Instructor (AFI) programme must meet the following criteria:

Applicants must have attained a minimum age of 21 years old

Possession of a valid Letter of Approval issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM)

Hold a current and valid Malaysian Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating (Aeroplane)

A minimum of 200 flight hours on aircraft, excluding simulator time, prior to course commencement

Successful completion of a Class I Medical Examination and possession of a valid medical certificate issued by a CAAM-Designated Medical Examiner (DME)

English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher, with higher competency strongly preferred

The AFI programme is designed to develop competent and professional flight instructors through a balanced combination of theory, instructional methodology, and practical flight training
Programme Structure
Instructional Techniques Training: 30 hours
Theoretical Knowledge Training: 70 hours
Flight Training: 35 hours
