BACHELOR OF AVIATION + CPL/IR WITH FROZEN ATPL
The Bachelor of Aviation + Commercial Pilot Licence / Instrument Rating (CPL/IR) with Frozen Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) is a comprehensive programme developed through a collaboration between
Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) and International Aero Training Academy (IATAC).
The programme combines academic aviation education with professional pilot training to prepare students for careers as airline pilots

Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to enrol in the CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL programme:

Passed in Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) or equivalent with credits in five subjects, including Bahasa Malaysia/Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, and a Science subject in one single examination

Obtain at least Grade C+ (CGPA 2.50) at STPM / Foundation Study / Pre-U / KPM Matriculation or must have a Diploma in an appropriate field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or other qualifications recognised and approved by UPNM Senate and CAAM
Students must also complete the following requirements before enrolment:

Obtain CAAM Approval Letter for Professional Pilot Training

Pass CAAM Class 1 Medical Examination conducted by a CAAM Authorised Medical Examiner

Complete Psychomotor Test and Interview Session

Submit required documents for loan application and pre-screening process
Academic Programme
Programme duration : 3 Years
2 years university academic programme + 1 year industry flight training
The programme combines academic aviation studies with professional pilot training, preparing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical flight experience required for careers in the aviation industry.
Ground School Training
IATAC provides comprehensive Ground School training covering the CAAM ATPL theoretical knowledge syllabus, as required for the issuance of the CPL/IR

Flying Phase Training
The Flying Phase represents the practical core of the programme, where students apply theoretical knowledge through real-world flight operations
Training is conducted on PA-28 or DA40NG and DA42NG aircraft, complemented by FNPT II simulator training
The total flight training requirement, inclusive of the CPL/IR Skill Test, comprises a minimum of 200 flight hours, structured as follows:

Single-Engine Aircraft (SE): 135 hours

Multi-Engine Aircraft (ME): 25 hours

FNPT II Flight Simulator: 40 hours
